WHAT WE DO

The Fredericksburg Food Pantry, a not-for-profit organization serving Gillespie County families and individuals, is seeking volunteers to assist in the distribution of food to the area's less-fortunate. Last year, the Pantry served 3,958 families by providing supplemental food to help assure adequate nutrition for those families' children, adults and aged.

Volunteers assemble food packages tailored to the size and needs of each of the organization's client-families. Adult workers of any age work in the Food Pantry warehouse one afternoon a month - or more if they wish. Days and hours of operation are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1pm until 5pm. The Food Pantry's warehouse and offices are located at 701 Mustang Street, just across Highway Street from the Gillespie Livestock sale barn.
